思わず触れたくなる、木の質感と柔らかな表情。どうぞゆっくり、腰を下ろしてください。身体をしっかり受け止めながらも動作は妨げられることなく、何も感じないほどの快い違和感は、このうえない座り心地の良さの証。アームに指先を絡ませ、肘から先端までの感触を味わっていくうちに、自然の営みかの如く、CHORUSは身体に馴染んでいるはずです。椅子は誰しもの生活の中にある日常的な存在。だからこそ、身体感覚に基づいた造形を導き出しました。
CHORUSの椅子の美しさが最も際立つのは、流麗かつ有機的なアームの形状です。柔らかな膨らみを有す、しなやかなライン。アングルによってその表情は変わり、視覚的な魅力はもちろん、手や腕で触れることによって、その造形美を愛でることができます。
この写真は、CHORUSのデザインを手掛けた松岡智之氏によるアームの原寸模型です。日進木工の職人と協力しながら、何度も試作を繰り返し、ディテールの微調整を重ねていきました。そしてついに、この独創的な3次元の曲線美が実現できたのです。

The chair is a daily existence in everyone's life. That's why I derived a figure based on the physical sense.
The beauty of the chair of CHORUS is most strikingly the shape of the flowing and organic arm. Soft lines with a soft bulge. Depending on the angle, the expression changes, and of course the visual appeal can be admired by touching it with hands and arms.
The photo is a full scale model of the arm by Tomoyuki Matsuoka who designed the CHORUS. While collaborating with the craftsman of Nissin, we repeated trial production many times and repeated fine adjustment of details. And finally, this creative three-dimensional curvaceous beauty was realized.
